The above article was published in the Journal of Korean Society of Dental Hygiene (Vol. 24, No. 6, pp. 533–41). This erratum is issued for the following reason.

The article was originally published with the statement that the study had received an exemption from the Institutional Review Board (IRB), as it was conducted using secondary data. At the time of publication, the IRB exemption approval had indeed been obtained. However, during the IRB closure report process, the Ministry of Health and Welfare informed the authors and the journal that the exemption was revoked on the grounds that the study should have undergone prior IRB review in principle. Accordingly, the statement regarding IRB exemption has been removed. The Editorial Board and the authors would like to notify readers of this correction. The scientific validity and reliability of the study are not affected, as the research itself posed minimal ethical risk.

This erratum has been issued at the request of the author and following discussion by the Editorial Board. To prevent recurrence of similar cases, strengthened measures will be reflected in the IRB approval regulations.
